Date Published: Wednesday 13, Sep 2017Kingston, September 12, 2017 – The Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, has described the new West Indies Home Contractors (WIHCON) housing development – The Lofts Apartments – on Arthur Wint Drive as a place that is poised to “promote the wellness of residents by providing access to participate in sport and physical activity.”
Minister Grange was speaking today at the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Apartment.
“I’m delighted to see that this development will feature a club house with a gym, a running track, and tennis court.”
The Minister said those amenities will allow residents to participate in sporting activity all day, every day which is one of the aims of the National Sport Policy.
Minister Grange also contributed items commemorating Jamaica’s fifty fifth year of independence to a Time Capsule that was buried on the construction site of the The Lofts Apartments. Also included in the Time Capsule is soil from WIHCON’s first development 60 years ago as well as soil from the current site and a copy of the plan.
