Grange hails Reggae Grammy nominees

Kingston, 7 December 2018 – The Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, has congratulated nominees for the Best Reggae Album category for the 61st annual Grammy Awards.

The nominees for best Reggae Album are:

  • Reggae Forever - Etana
  • As The World Turns - Black Uhuru
  • Rebellion Rises - Ziggy Marley
  • A Matter Of Time - Protoje
  • 44/876 - Sting & Shaggy

“Congratulations to all the nominees but I must make special mention of Etana who has become the first woman in several years to be nominated for the Reggae Grammy.  This is a welcomed recognition of her many years of hard work and excellent music.”

The Minister also praised Protoje who was receiving his first nomination.

“Protoje is another young reggae artiste making a significant mark on the music.  We can all be proud of his achievements,” Minister Grange added.

The Grammy Awards will be presented in February.

“Each of this year’s nominees is deserving of this honour and I look forward to the announcement of the winner in the new year.” Minister Grange said.
