Usain Bolt Tracks and Records franchise good for Brand Jamaica – Grange

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Honourable Olivia Grange, says she is confident that the Usain Bolt Tracks and Records franchise will make significant contributions to the promotion of Jamaica’s sport, music and cuisine.

Speaking at the opening of the first Usain Bolt Tracks and Records franchise in Ochi Rios, St Ann, on Wednesday, September 14, Minister Grange said “It is always a great recipe that uses three of our country’s best ingredients – sports, music and food.  But when we then add Usain Bolt and the beautiful Ocho Rios to the mix, then ‘everything sell off’.”

The Minister explained that the success of any restaurant is dependent on five key things, “Menu (you have an excellent Jamaican menu); Ingredients (you can get them fresh from our farmers); Atmosphere (Ocho Rios is one of the best places in the world); Service (it has been good so far and I know this will continue); and Reputation (which is dependent on how well you execute the other key components).”

The Minister used the occasion to congratulate the triple Olympic gold medalist, Usain Bolt, the KLE Group and the new franchise owners, Marsha and Joshua Jhamani, for having the confidence to invest in Jamaica and for the important role they will play in promoting what is good about Jamaica.

She also congratulated Bolt on “having the courage and the discipline to use his God-given talent and abilities to inspire and excite so many of us”.

“You all have what it takes to succeed in this very competitive business.  I wish you nothing but success as you continue to prosper and share this authentic Jamaican cultural experience with the world,” the Minister said.
