Manager, Transport and Security Management GMG/SEG 1 (Band 7) – NOT VACANT

Salary Range: $3,501,526.00 - $4,709,163.00 per annum 

 

JOB PURPOSE

 

Under the supervision of the Director, Facilities Management and Administration, the Transport and Security Manager manages the utilisation and maintenance of the Ministry’s fleet of vehicles and supervises drivers assigned to the Ministry. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring a secure environment for the Ministry’s staff, visitors and physical assets. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

 

Management/Administrative Responsibilities

 

  • Participates in the development of the Division’s Operational and Corporate Plans;
  • Leads in the development of the Unit’s Work Plan;
  • Develops work plans in collaboration with staff supervised;
  • Prepares individual work plan;
  • Oversees the preparation and management of the annual budget for the security operations and for the procurement and maintenance of motor vehicles of the Ministry;
  • Keeps abreast of trends and best practices within area of responsibilities and recommends/implements changes where necessary to improve the service quality and

productivity;

  • Prepares and monitors work schedules/plans for the Unit;
  • Prepares and submits activity and other reports as requested.

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Management Studies or its equivalent from a registered institution
  • Training in Supervisory Management would be an asset
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in motor vehicle fleet management

OR

  • An Associate Degree in Business Studies/Business Administration
  • Training in Supervisory Management/Human Resource Management would be an asset
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in motor vehicle fleet management

  • Typical office environment. No adverse working conditions.
  • There can be high pressure when deadlines are to be met
  • Extended working hours are expected as well as working on weekends and public holidays.
