Kingston, 11 December 2025 – The Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, has said that the farewell to the Reggae singer Jimmy Cliff will be an “Official Celebration of a well-lived life and would feature the music for which Jimmy was known and to which he dedicated his life.”
According to Minister Grange, the Celebration of Jimmy Cliff’s life will not be a typical service that is held after a person's passing.
“Jimmy didn’t want a sad or somber occasion, he wanted a celebration of his life and we are honouring his memory and his wishes,” said Minister Grange.
The Official Celebration for the life of the Honourable Jimmy Cliff, OM will take place next week Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the National Indoor Sports Centre, beginning at 3pm (instead of 10am as previously announced).
