Fellow designers, Kenea Linton and Ayana Dixon expressed similar feelings as they too have been showing off their authentic designs at CARIFESTA.

The Honourable Olivia Grange, Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport organised for assistance to be given to the eleven Jamaican artisans who had an interest or were invited to CARIFESTA this year. Each booth space was paid for by the Ministry “in an effort to provide the much needed assistance that our craft vendors, fashion designers and hair and skin product specialists need to push their businesses,” Minister Grange said.

In addition to Jamaican craft and designs, Reggae music was featured at CARIFESTA at the Bay Street Esplanade. Veteran performer Ernie Smith and the all female Band Adahzeh rocked the full venue. Comedians Ity and Fancy Cat and Johnny Daley were also there providing “a belly full” of laughter to those present.

L’ACADCO – ‘A Caribbean United Force’ – is performing at the Signature CARIFESTA event at the Gymnasium in Bridgetown tonight (August 24).

CARIFESTA’s closing ceremony is rescheduled for Sunday, August 27.
