Minister Grange Attends High Level Culture Meeting in Paraguay

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Honourable Olivia Grange, is travelling to Paraguay to participate in the VII Inter-American Meeting of Ministers of Culture and Highest Appropriate Authorities of the Organization of the American States (OAS) from November 17-18, 2016 in Asuncion.

The Minister noted that the Meeting will examine, among other things, ‘Local Production to Regional Consumption: Opportunities and Challenges for the Circulation of Cultural Goods and Services’, ‘Challenges in the Generation of Employment, Social Inclusion and Promotion of Cultural Diversity’ and ‘Regional Programs on the Circulation of Cultural Goods and Services’.

Minister Grange will be one of two Ministers to open the Ministerial dialogue following the presentations from the Third Plenary Session. She will present Jamaica’s perspective on the topic: ‘Regional Programmes on the Circulation of Cultural Goods and Services’.

Minister Grange said she was grateful for the opportunity to also share Jamaica’s policy positions and programmes relating to culture with the rest of the Caribbean and Latin America.

We place people at the heart of everything we do.

We believe that culture is the great equaliser and transformer that makes ordinary men and women great.

We believe that gender equality is essential in a modern society.

We believe that an entertained person is a happy person and happy persons make happy societies.

We believe that physical activity enhances lives and sport is the medicine that heals and corrects.

Olivia Grange
