Sinclair died Saturday morning at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH), after what is believed to have been a massive heart attack on the job on Friday.

Minister Grange described the late journalist as a very humble, devoted and responsive reporter, one who dedicated himself to his profession and the need to keep the public informed and entertained.

She said that his death was a great loss to his family and also to his many colleagues and friends at the Gleaner and in the wider media.

“He had a good heart and was exceptional in covering crime and sport assignments, including motor and go kart racing. Crime reporting has lost one of its best exponents of the art of getting the real stories. It was a privilege working with him for more than two decades and an honour to have called him my friend. I will miss him greatly,” said the Minister.

“My condolences go out to his wife, his children and other relatives and friends who miss him as much as I do,” she added.

Sinclair, who started as a messenger at the Gleaner and rose to head the assignment desk, had been employed at the newspaper for 33 of his 49 years.
