Kingston, August 27 – The Honourable Olivia Grange, Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport has said that she is not surprised by the election of former Netball Jamaica President, Marva Bernard, to the presidency of the Americas Federation of Netball Associations (AFNA).

“Marva has proven her worth in the administration of the sport of netball which has earned her respect locally and internationally,” Minister Grange said in congratulating Mrs Bernard who until her election as President was the Treasurer of AFNA.

I have no doubt that as AFNA President she will do all that she can to further advance the Region’s netball. Already she has shown that inclination with the recent successful staging of the inaugural netball competition among Caribbean high schools.
