Kingston, August 15 – The Honourable Olivia Grange, Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, has encouraged players “to be disciplined and focused” in competition at the upcoming Caribbean Regional Table Tennis Federation Mini and Pre-Cadet Championship to be held from September 25-31 in the Dominican Republic.

“With that approach I have no doubt you will return with medals,” the Sport Minister said.

Minister Grange was addressing the players during a visit to one of their practice sessions on Tuesday, August 14 at the Jamaica Theological Seminary in Kingston. Through the intervention of the Minister, Table Tennis Jamaica has received additional funding from the Sport Development Foundation towards the tournament.

“It will help to make the planning and the trip a little better,” the Sport Minister said.

A total of 16 players will depart the island for the championship.
