Grange regrets passing of ‘Bull’ McMorris

Kingston, 2 February 2022 - The Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, has expressed sadness at the passing of Jamaica and West Indies cricketer, Easton 'Bull' McMorris.

Mr McMorris died yesterday, February 1, at the age of 86.

Minister Grange said “Bull McMorris, as he was fondly called, was one of our finest batsmen and served Jamaica and West Indies cricket well.”

Mr McMorris played 13 test matches for West Indies between 1958 and 1966, scoring one Test century. A former captain of Jamaica, he scored almost six-thousand runs playing for the country and averaged just over 42 in 95 first-class matches.

“He will also be remembered for the quality service he gave at the Ministry of Labour where he worked as a liaison officer for the overseas farm work programme in North America, after his cricketing days ended.  I offer condolences to his widow Avery, children and other relatives as well as to the cricket community.  Rest well, ‘Bull’ McMorris; yours was an innings well played."
