Minister gives money to Cavalier and Waterhouse for Caribbean Club Championships

Kingston, 4 May 2022 – The Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, has come to the assistance of local football once again, providing Cavalier and Waterhouse football clubs with Two-Million-Dollars ($2M) each towards their participation in the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championships.

Cavalier, the Premier League defending champions, and second-placed Waterhouse, will represent Jamaica at the Championships in the Dominican Republic between May 13 and 25, 2022.

Teams playing in the Competition will come from Jamaica, Haiti and the host nation.

Minister Grange said:
“These are challenging times for everyone but the Ministry gladly obliged when called on again to assist.

“The nation will be rooting for Cavalier and Waterhouse and we are happy that all the games will be televised live in 26 countries.”
